Aesthetics & Ambience


Separator:

  • Right-click the empty space in the left pane of MO2 and select Create separator.
  • Name the separator Aesthetics & Ambience .
Why the small selection of texture, lighting, animation, and audio mods?

Many of these mods are out of the scope of this guide, and as such we have only included those that we feel are critical or highly impactful. If you do decide to use the New Vegas Visual Renewal guide, move the mods in this section down to the corresponding seperators referenced in that guide.

Visual Improvements

Contrasted LOD Noise Texture

Adds LOD noise texture for Mid Frequency Details, which helps blend far terrain with closer details.

  • Main File - Contrasted LOD Noise 2k

High Resolution Bloom

This mod edits the resolution of the bloom render target, allowing it to use higher screen resolutions instead of the hardcoded quarter size.

High Resolution Water Fog

Increases resolution of water depth render target, thus significantly reducing aliasing.

Mobile Pip-Boy Light

Attaches the Pip-Boy light to the Pip-Boy so it moves with the player's arm.

Simply Upscaled Grass

Upscales grass texture, improving visual quality with negligible performance impact.

Installation:

Animations

3rd Person Animation Fixpack

Fixes gliding, stuttering, limb popping, broken fingers, animation bugs, bad blending, etc, of 3rd person animations.

Installation:

ISControl Enabler

Allows for manual repositioning of the gun and crosshair. Required for multiple weapon and animation mods in the guide.

Instructions:
  • Hold the aim button and right shift until the ISControl crosshair appears, then release right shift while still holding aim.
  • Adjust the sights angle by moving the mouse.
  • Adjust the sights distance with the mouse wheel.
  • Adjust the sights position by holding left shift and moving the mouse.
  • Press enter to save your iron sight alterations.

Weapon Based Hands Clip Distance

Allows for manual repositioning of the players hand clip distance.

Instructions:
  • Hold the aim button and press right alt. Alternatively, if adjusting clip distance while your weapon is at the hip, simply press right alt.
  • Adjust the hand clip distance with the mouse wheel.
  • Press enter to save your hand clip distance alterations.
  • Press backspace to exit the editor.

HIPControl - Weapon Idle Position Adjuster - ESPless

Allows easy adjustment of weapon position on screen. Mainly required for animation mods.

Installation:

  • Main File - HIPControl

B42 Weapon Inertia

Gives weapons realistic inertia movement.

Anniversary Anim Pack

Includes three of Hitman's previous animation/bugfix mods, Subtle Camera Motion, Iron Sights Recoil Animations, and Fire Animation Variants. Also includes some previously unreleased animations.

New Vegas Animation Overhaul - Guns

The definitive first-person animation pack for guns in Fallout: New Vegas and TTW. Two-and-a-half years in this making, this pack covers (almost) every weapon in base New Vegas, its DLCs, and in TTW.

Compatibility Skeleton

Allows multiple mods that edit the skeleton mesh to work together, required for B42 Weapon Inertia.

Installation:

Kyu's Ballistics - Fixed

Adds those non-sensical, but cool looking, smoky trails to bullets that cool games use today.

Audio

ATMOS Ambient Sound Overhaul - TTW

A port of ATMOS Ambient Sound Overhaul from Fallout 3, adding more than 200 new ambient sound effects. Over 3000 hand placed sound emitters. 3D sound effect with actual distance and direction in the world. Only affects the Capital Wasteland.

ATMOS Ambience Overhaul

Modernized ambient soundscape with an object based directional sound system. Estimated near 1000 new custom-built sound effects, crafted with film industry grade equipment. Only affects the Mojave Wasteland.

PhySFX

Replaces the impact sounds of various physics objects in the game, such as metal objects and glass, with newer, higher quality audio.

All Weapon Sound Overhaul Modern Edition Redone - AWSOMER

A full replacement of all ballistic, explosive and energy weapon sounds.

Lighting

Improved Lighting Shaders

xNVSE plugin that almost completely fixes the exterior lighting bug, and allows up to 4x the number of active lights!

Atmospheric Lighting Tweaks - TTW

Makes changes to Image Spaces and Lighting Templates to give interiors a more dynamic and atmospheric look.

Remove the tints from Interiors.

Weather

MoonlightNVSE

Fixes moonlight, making the moon the light caster instead of the sun.

Longer Weather Transitions ESPless

A small improvement that extends the weather transition time by a factor of 20, which fixes abrupt weather transitions when using varied weather types.

Desert Natural Weathers TTW

An overhaul of weathers with 360 degree panoramic cloud textures, improved lighting, and DLC support.

Accurate NASA Stars

4k star texture and mesh using NASA satellite images to create a real-world accurate starfield.

Improved, higher resolution texture for the moon.

NVSE plugin which adds pseudo-animated clouds for horizons and panoramic cloud systems.

Interior Rain

Interior rain sounds powered by Climate Control NVSE.

3D Rain

Replace the poorly designed 2D rain found in Zion Canyon (as well as in most weather mods) with a new 3D version. Rain no longer looks abnormal when you look up or down.
